Nonlinear analysis of the delayed tyre model with control-based continuation

Abstract In this study, the numerical bifurcation analysis of a shimmying wheel is performed with non-smooth, time-delayed model tyre-ground contact. This capable reproducing bistable behaviour often observed in experiments: stable equilibrium and periodic orbit coexisting for same set system parameters, that simpler quasi-steady tyre models fail to capture. parameter domain, there also exists an unstable within separatrix between domains attractions two steady-state solutions.
